Punga

There are some works of PUNGA.

The video below is so interesting. The character is simple and quite flat like 2D style even though it's made in 3D. I love the idea that kid wearing just underwear play with the hand to propagate the underwear rule for children. That's cute and colorful character design.

3 videos below have the same style. The character is 3D but the background was made look like 2D cut-out animation and I think all done in 3D. All colour and texture were used look like paper texture so the general theme of the animation is no diffirent than cut-out animation.

Gluko and Lennon

I just could not believe that these character are 3D before Dave showed me how to made it. Gluko and Lennon are very simplistic design but yet effective. I love the way they look and act. The theme of this video reminded me TADO, Friend with you and Fons Schiedon. Bright and colourful.

When I first saw the film and think about techniques, I thought it made in Flash or Affect Effect or other softwares which are always used to make 2D animation. However now I knew the technique and I absolutely love it. I think it is a good idea to make 3D animation look like 2D style. This can ensure two things: first, the film still follows 2D style which I always look towards, secondly making film in 3D is quicker and easier for animated.

I want to thank the guy who make Gluko and Lennon because they also uploaded the making of video. This video show how the timing was counted and how the video was animated.

3D animation examples

As a part of new project, I look at some 3d animations.

This film I have just seen in class.
It's called Cat Shit One (I don't understand the name, to be honest). The film is really good. I like the idea that takes the bunny into the action.

I found this video about IDA entertainment who made CatShitOne. Watch from minute 1:00, this part talk a little bit about CatShitOne (CSO), thought this part I know they did CSO by motion capture, not only 3D software (may be Maya, 3D Max or Cinema 4D).
